A Conversation with Jeff Fliegler
Today’s guest is Jeff Fliegler, owner of The Point Solutions – a digital marketing company that helps midsize business and organizations with media, web design, strategy and digital advertising.
Jeff was a chef for 16 years and has lived and worked all over the world. In 2012, he switched careers due to a back injury. After a short time working in the financial services industry, he created The Point Solutions. He’s also produced a successful podcast, won a Golden Foodie for Best Food Influencer in Orange County, CA and produced a feature documentary at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
He and his family currently live in Orange County. He’s the proud dad to two young sons, and he and his wife Carly love to get out to the beaches and play in their spare time. The latest project he’s been working on is called the Everything Page – a one-page web page builder that simplifies the process of website design and converts more leads.
Show Notes:
In this fun conversation we discussed:
- The Entrepreneurs life and the ebb and flow of work: “Either I’m chasing the bear, or the bear is chasing me”; how to level up by engaging a business coach, how it is hard to turn off at the end of the day.
- What it takes to work in a kitchen, and how many people in the corporate world don’t understand the level of skill and knowledge restaurant people can bring to the table – in productivity, dedication, efficiency, budgeting, people skills, and work ethic.
- Jeff’s life-altering injury and what was built from this unexpected transition.
- Jeff’s philosophy of always having a side project that is treated like a client – he gives this focus and a chance to build into something greater.
- Start with reckless abandon! Advice on how to let go of fear and figuring out a way to just start something new.
- Jeff’s work in the digital marketing world, the continued importance of social media, and crafting messages that lead to increased trust.
- Creativity and how the definition should be expanded past the world of art, the benefits of taking breaks and finding inspiration in unexpected places.
- Jeff’s new endeavor: https://everythingpage.site/ This is a streamlined one page web page builder that captures the essence of your business, converts leads and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Use coupon code Workbench for 20% off your website!
- Jeff’s song for the playlist: Mama, You Can Bet, by Jyoti
This was such a fun conversation, with so many great ideas and lessons to put to use and we hope you are able to put some of this to work in your life! We can expand our definition of creativity. We can also let go of the habit of feeling guilt – and spend some time getting to know the ebb and flow of our own energy. And if we can start recognizing when fear shows up, we can make it work for us as a source of energy. Momentum can build, and we can get more comfortable with trying things, failing, and trying again.
Thanks again for listening, and until next time, sending out love and light!
